Ikos Dassia

I stayed at the Ikos Dassia from 9/27-10/05/2024. I booked the Panoramic Ocean view room. I had an incredible view of the mountains and ocean front. My room was very large and comfortable. There was a king size bed and a sofa bed. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Room service was excellent! Service at this resort was the best I had ever experienced and I have stayed at other 5 star hotels. There is nightly entertainment which includes a theater show about 9 pm as well as live music or a DJ by the lobby bar. There are several large pools including an adults only and separate family pool. The beach is clean and large. You do have to go early to get a lounge chair. There are free water sports which we took advantage of. There is a complimentary sun down cruise sponsored by the hotel. It is important that you book it the minute you arrive as it books quickly. There is a complimentary 1 day use of a tesla car. Book as soon as you arrive at the hotel, the cars book up quickly. There is also a complimentary daily shuttle into the old town, you do not need to book the shuttle ahead of time. There are several restaurants at this resort. It is imperative that you book your reservations a few weeks before your trip via email. My favorites were The Grill house, Provence (french), Anaya ( thai), Flavors ( buffet), and Kerkyra (greek). I did not like Fresco ( was not tasty) or Ouzo (many flies on the barbecued food). In general I enjoyed the food very much. We took advantage of the shuttle and tesla. These modes of transportation allowed us the opportunity to see a lot of the island.The Island is beautiful and has much to see. The Greek people are wonderful and friendly. Services throughout the hotel were excellent and consistent. The staff was never rushed and were very attentive. ***I got sick from something I ate at the hotel on my 6th day there, fortunately my symptoms were not severe. I ate dry toast and drank a lot of water to avoid getting worse. The hotel was very sympathetic and sent beautiful flowers to my room. Despite this incident I would go back again. I loved this resort! It's only about 20 minutes from the airport.

Repeat visitors to Dassia, we enjoy staying here and had a lovely relaxing time this year. The staff we had dealt with were all lovely, special mention to housekeeping who kept our room in great condition during our stay. Samuel at the beach was great, always a smile when we said hello and got us set up for the day. Both of the assistant somillier in Ergon were very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the wine tasting. The food was great, the only issue I'd say we had was with restaurant reservations - yes we booked the 3 before we arrived but when we went to arrange the rest upon check in with the app we could only get booked for later times. I did try to rearrange one booking via the concierge service but was advised it was not possible to change it. I can see the reasons for making reservations but a bit more flexibility would be great, especially when we stayed at a less busy time. We are planning to return again next year.

Firstly, I'm still here as I'm writing this after getting back to our room after another day in the pool. We started the week with high expectations but cautious due to some of the negative reviews recently. Let's just say that those initial fears were quashed LITERALLY as soon as we got off our coach transfer. Greeted at the door with cool towels and told to take a seat in the lobby bar to deal with the checking process. Brought over 2 complementary glasses of prosecco and an orange juice for our little boy. Check-in was super simple, shown a map of the grounds and taken to our room by concierge. Our bags were already in the room, which was nice. Everything here primarily is done through the app, be it activities, menus, the pool bar menu, pretty much everything but they do have actual menus and bits if that's easier. After finding out the main pool is heated, we decided to try the room service food for the evening. A few people on here have slated the food, but I can honestly say we haven't had a bad meal here. The buffet is ALWAYS fresh, not a huge amount but you can tell it's been cooked properly. I'd much prefer better quality over huge quantities you find at other hotels. The main reason to come here though is the fact you have to do LITERALLY nothing. So many staff around if you ever need anything and nothing, NOTHING is too much trouble. You can ask for pretty much anything food or drink wise and it's taken care of. I have to say a special mention to 2 people here though. Vasille in the pool bar (supervisor) makes the BEST cocktails and I completely disagree that they are watered down or pre mixed. I have been asking for the most obscure drinks I can think of and it's always a "yes we can do that". I've even been asking for his own recommendations for drinks. Secondly, Sophia at the main pool. I refrain from calling her a waitress, because she deserves so much more than that. So attentive, polite, friendly and bubbly, so good with our little boy and always has a smile on her face. A CREDIT TO THE IKOS BRAND. I get the feeling that because you pay alot to stay here it's expected but honestly, we can't fault her. Either of them actually. Me and my wife both agree that if there's a reason to return, it's because of these two Also a special mention goes to the housekeeping staff and the mini bar dude. So, the mini bar is INCLUDED in your stay, we asked for mainly vodka in ours because we don't really drink anything else and the next day, low and behold, more vodka. If there's something you don't like, ask for it to be swapped out and it's done. Also the chamber maids who have made the room like new everyday, picking up my boys cuddly toys and leaving them in different positions around the room for him to find is such a nice touch. Now. Negatives. we found a few ants in our room on the first night, but this was swiftly dealt with by housekeeping and the gardener in the morning. Honestly, that's it. Would I come back here again though. Honestly, yes. In a heartbeat. If your thinking about coming here, just ignore the negatives and get it booked. Thank you ikos for a fantastic stay.
