The train journey from Lisbon to Porto is a scenic one and in approximately 3 hours you are in Porto, this wonderful city is a blend of medieval and modern , with beautiful architecture, churches that are adorned in the famous blue and white tiles and one of the prettiest train stations in Europe. Porto has it all you can be cruising along the Duoro River, or soaking up the sun on the beach, or losing yourself in the labyrinth of streets and quirky shops make a pit stop at the Livraria Lello bookstore it is one of the oldest in the world and was the inspiration for the library in the Harry Potter movies.
Head down to the riverside where you will find on one side seafood and fish restaurants and on the other side of the Duoro River the Port Wine Houses, take a tour of the cellars and enjoy the wine tasting before indulging on fish dish specialties. Evening time the area of Riberia offers a traditional night out with great bars, cafes and restaurants the Praça da Ribeira square is lined with colorful 18th-century townhouses and cobbled streets.
